We Say Good-Bye

I am very sad to let you know that Bob died today at about 4:30.  We celebrated our 42nd wedding anniversary this morning.  Marshall and Karyn, Elliott and Betsy and I spent the day around Bob's bedside.  At one point he smiled and said, " Everyone is staring at me."  I told him that he is our star.   Bob's funeral will be Tuesday at Arlington Cemetery.   I will let you know the time late tomorrow afternoon.  Because of the heat, we will try to have it as early as possible.

  2. Oh, Robert! That smile, kindness, curiosity, sangfroid and that willingness to help....People like you is a rarity. You will be very badly missed and may your soul rest in peace, forever and ever. Amen.

I thank God for our paths crossing for 11 years at work.

You are a true mensch! RIP, Robert.

  3. Paula and family,
I am so very sorry. I know firsthand the pain and the heartache as I continue to miss our sweet Alexa. I am praying for you all during this time. You all are a great family and Bob was such a good man. I have fond memories of the times that I baby-sat for your kids (many years ago) and of all the many tennis times at Willow Point.

    Blessings to you all.

  5. I can only echo what everyone else has said. Robert was one of the nicest people I've had the pleasure to know and work with. He always had a smile and I never heard him utter an unkind word. I'll miss his Dilbert cartoons and funny Windows stories. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

  8. Bob was one of the kindest men I have ever had the opportunity to meet in my life. He was so incredibly warm, friendly, hospitable, and a quality person through and through. Spending time with Bob made all of us better people and his positive influence will live on every day through all of the people he touched.

My heart especially goes out to Paula, Elliott, and Marshall as you deal with your difficult loss. You guys all mean so much to me. I love you guys.

  10. Paula,
When you & I played T2 tennis, Bob was our only 'groupie'. I especially remember the night that the stray cat came and sat in his lap and they watched the match together.

Bob was a quite man, but when he spoke he had some very interesting observations. They could be very humerous or they could be very enlightening. He will be missed by all of us.
