Bob had a very enjoyable Memorial Day weekend. He had good visits with family and friends. Also, I took him on some outings so he got a change of scenery and an opportunity to walk around a little. I managed to make Nordstroms one of the outings where I made a few purchases for myself. He is now walking with a cane in the house and a walker outside. One of the highlights of the weekend was Bob's ability to eat real meals. I even made him some of my chili!
Today Bob had his first round of chemo as an out patient. Before the chemo, his vital signs and blood were checked. Since he has felt better, we were really surprised to hear that his blood count was down. He was still able to have his treatment but we go back tomorrow so that he can get two units of blood. Bob and I opened and closed the doctor's office. His treatment is very long, because his kidneys have to be flushed at the beginning and the end. We were there from 8:50 to 5:15. Add driving home in traffic and you have a long day.
